Adamax Spray

BATCH 202609ADXSP20

Adamax is a research peptide sold as a Semax analogue, usually described as N-acetyl Semax with an adamantane group added. This Adamax nasal spray holds 20 mg in a 20 mL bottle, and its lot certificate confirms identity and measures the concentration. Unlike Semax, Adamax has no published research and no official structure record, as set out below.

What is Adamax?

Adamax is a name used by research-peptide sellers, not an official one: it has no INN, no CAS number, no FDA substance record (UNII) and no PubChem compound entry. It is marketed as a modified form of Semax, the Russian heptapeptide MEHFPGP.

The most repeated description, from the Wikipedia article on Adamax (created October 2025), is Semax with an acetyl group on the N-terminus and the C-terminal proline linked to a 3-carbamoyl-1-adamantyl group. That would be C50H69N11O11S, about 1,032 g/mol. The adamantane unit is borrowed from P021, a different, published research peptide from the Iqbal laboratory in New York. Other vendor listings give different sequences and formulas, one of them with no adamantane at all. None of these structures comes from a characterisation study, so we do not state any of them as fact.

Certificate for the current lot

Every bottle is filled from one lot and ships against that lot’s certificate, issued by HYTE Research Division. Identity is reported as confirmed by HPLC with diode-array detection (the certificate does not give the reference structure), and the concentration is measured against a specification of not less than 90% of the label claim:

The spray certificate reports identity and concentration; it does not report an HPLC purity figure.

The research that does exist

Because Adamax itself is unstudied, the papers below are about its two ingredients, Semax and the adamantane unit. They describe those molecules, not Adamax, and their findings cannot be carried over to it.

Regulatory status

Adamax is not an approved drug anywhere and has no FDA application. It does not appear on FDA’s 503A or 503B compounding category lists or its compounding safety-risk page, where Semax does. In New Zealand, Medsafe’s June 2025 submission to the Medicines Classification Committee named Adamax and Semax as ACTH analogues marketed as cognitive enhancers and proposed classifying the group as prescription medicines; the committee deferred its decision in July 2025. Medsafe submission, June 2025. Clean Peptide’s Adamax Spray is for laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use.

QuestionsAdamax Spray: frequently asked

What is Adamax?+

Adamax is a research peptide sold as a Semax analogue, most often described as N-acetyl Semax with a C-terminal adamantyl group. It has no INN, CAS number, FDA substance record or PubChem compound entry, and no published study defines its structure.

What is the Adamax peptide formula?+

The most-cited formula, from Wikipedia and two vendors, is C50H69N11O11S, about 1,032 g/mol. Other vendors list different formulas, and no primary source confirms any of them, so we do not state one as fact.

Is there research on Adamax?+

No peer-reviewed study of Adamax was found in PubMed, PMC, Europe PMC or patent databases as of October 2026, and no clinical trial is registered. The published research is on Semax and on P021, the adamantane peptide its design borrows from.

What is the difference between Adamax and Semax?+

Semax is a defined, published heptapeptide, MEHFPGP (C37H51N9O10S, CAS 80714-61-0). Adamax is described as Semax with an added acetyl group and an adamantane unit, but that structure has not been published.

What is in the Adamax nasal spray?+

20 mg of Adamax in 20 mL, a nominal 1 mg per mL, in a spray bottle. The current lot’s HYTE Research Division certificate reports identity as confirmed by HPLC-DAD and gives the measured concentration.

Is Adamax FDA-approved?+

No. It has no FDA application and is not on FDA’s compounding lists. New Zealand’s Medsafe named it in 2025 among ACTH analogues it proposed to classify as prescription medicines.
