A bacteriostatic water COA tests the water, not a peptide, so it has no purity or peptide content line; ours reports one test, bacterial endotoxin. Clean Peptide’s bacteriostatic water (bac water) lot BAC-0023530, sold in 3 mL and 10 mL vials, was tested by Accurate Test Labs, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, on 22 July 2026. It measured 0.50 EU/mL of endotoxin against a limit of 350.00 EU/mL printed on the report, a Pass. The certificate does not measure the benzyl alcohol, and it is not a sterility test.
This page explains what that one line means, what a bac water certificate can and cannot tell you, and what to look for on any other seller’s certificate. The composition of the product itself is set out on the bacteriostatic water product page.

Transcribed in October 2026 from the two Accurate Test Labs certificates, one titled “Bacteriostatic Water 3ml” and one “Bacteriostatic Water 10ml”. Both carry the same sample ID, internal lab ID, batch number, dates and result. Each size has its own lot page: 3 mL and 10 mL.
What the endotoxin line means
Bacterial endotoxins are fragments of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. They are measured in endotoxin units per millilitre (EU/mL), and a lower figure means less endotoxin was found. The certificate reports 0.50 EU/mL for this lot and marks it Pass against its stated limit of 350.00 EU/mL.
Two points are worth reading closely on any endotoxin result:
- The limit is the laboratory’s or the client’s, not a universal one. The report prints 350.00 EU/mL as the limit but does not say where that figure comes from. When you compare two bac water certificates, compare the measured EU/mL figures, not only the word Pass.
- Endotoxin is not sterility. An endotoxin test looks for bacterial fragments. It does not show whether living micro-organisms are present. That is a separate test, and it is not on this certificate.
What this certificate does not report
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. That composition is what the product is made to; it is not a figure this certificate measured. The report contains no lines for:
- Benzyl alcohol content. The preservative is not measured, so the certificate does not confirm the 0.9% figure. For comparison, our Selank Spray certificate does measure benzyl alcohol, by HPLC-DAD: 10.51 mg/mL against a specification of not less than 9 mg/mL.
- Sterility. No sterility test is reported.
- pH, appearance, fill volume or particulate matter. None of these is reported.
- Identity or purity. There is no peptide in the vial, so the purity and peptide content lines you see on a peptide certificate do not apply.
A certificate that reports one test is clear about what it covers. What matters is that you read it as one test: an endotoxin result says nothing about the preservative, sterility or volume.
One certificate, two sizes
The 3 mL and 10 mL certificates carry the same sample ID (2607AFL1164.4102), the same internal lab ID and the same batch number, BAC-0023530. They record one laboratory test, issued under each size’s name. Both sizes therefore ship against the same endotoxin result for lot BAC-0023530. When a new lot goes on sale, it gets its own certificate and its own lot pages.
How a bac water certificate differs from a peptide certificate

What to check on any bacteriostatic water certificate
- The lot number matches the vial, and you know which sizes the certificate covers.
- The list of tests is stated. Endotoxin, sterility, benzyl alcohol content and pH are separate tests; note which ones were run.
- Each result has a number and a unit, such as EU/mL, not only Pass.
- The limit is printed, and you can see whether it is a laboratory, client or published specification.
- The laboratory, its accreditation and the dates are shown, including when the sample was received and tested.
- The certificate can be checked with the laboratory. See how to verify a COA.
