The Melanotan II certificate for lot ACE-1234324 (10 mg) reports 99.82% HPLC purity, 10.66 mg measured, identity confirmed against a Melanotan II reference standard, and no fentanyl, heavy metals or microbial growth detected, with endotoxin at 0.058 EU/mL. It was issued by ILS Laboratories on 21 September 2026. Unlike certificates that read 99.90%, its purity sits below ILS’s 99.9% reporting cap, so 99.82% is the measured value itself.
This page reads that one certificate from top to bottom, line by line, so you can check any Melanotan II (MT2) COA the same way. How Melanotan II differs from its free-acid relative PT-141 is a separate question, answered in PT-141 vs Melanotan II; how it differs from Melanotan I is in Melanotan 1 vs 2.

The certificate also shows a photo of the vial with its label and lot number, and an overall result: Pass.
The results, line by line
Peptide purity (HPLC): 99.82%
Specification 95.0% or higher; pass. ILS’s notes define purity as the Melanotan II peak’s share of all peptide-related peaks at 214 nm by reversed-phase HPLC. Many ILS certificates read exactly 99.90% because ILS caps reported purity at 99.9%; the note saying so appears on those certificates and not on this one. A figure below the cap, like 99.82%, is the result as measured.
Net peptide content: 10.66 mg
“Report Only”, so there is no pass or fail limit. 10.66 mg against a 10 mg label is 106.6%. Content and purity are separate measurements: purity says how clean the peak is, content says how much peptide is in the vial. Why content can read above the label is explained in why a COA can show more than the label.
Identity (HPLC-RTM): Melanotan II, confirmed
RTM means retention-time match. ILS’s notes say the sample was confirmed to be Melanotan II by chromatographic retention time comparison with a reference standard. It is a comparison, not a structure determination: the certificate does not report a measured mass.
HPLC chromatogram
The certificate prints the UV trace at 214 nm. It shows one dominant peak and no other large peaks. This is the run the purity figure comes from, and it is the line to look at when a certificate gives only a number.
Fentanyl screen: not detected
An immunoassay with a 50 ng/mL cutoff. “Not detected” means below that cutoff.
Heavy metals (ICP-MS): not detected
Arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and chromium, each against a “not more than” limit (1.5, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 10.0 ppm). ILS’s notes say these are internal screening limits for research-use materials, not a pharmacopoeial specification.
Sterility (PCR): no growth
Specification “No Growth”; pass.
Endotoxin (USP <85>): 0.058 EU/mL
Specification “Report Result” and status “Reported”: a measured value with no pass or fail line. ILS’s note on the certificate says acceptable limits vary by product type and matrix. 0.058 EU/mL is lower than the 0.101 EU/mL printed on several of our other ILS certificates.
Every figure above was transcribed in October 2026 from the ILS certificate image on the lot page and checked against ILS’s portal record on 30 October 2026.
The notes at the foot of the certificate
The last section is easy to skip and worth reading. It gives the test date, the identity and purity methods, the heavy-metal and endotoxin methods, ILS’s ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation scope, and one important limit: sample names, lot numbers and labelled content are supplied by the submitting party, and the results describe only the sample tested. That is why the lot-number match and a lookup with the laboratory matter. The certificate is signed by ILS’s lab director and dated 21 September 2026.
A checklist for any Melanotan II COA
- The title and identity line say Melanotan II, with the method. “MT2” alone is a nickname.
- The lot number matches your vial, and the size matches the label.
- Purity, content and identity are each reported, in %, in mg and as a named match.
- A chromatogram is printed, or at least the purity method and wavelength are stated.
- The contaminant panel is listed: fentanyl, heavy metals, sterility and endotoxin, or a note that they were not tested.
- It can be checked with the laboratory. The lot page links to ILS’s own record. See how to verify a peptide COA, and the COA glossary for any abbreviation above.

Where to buy Melanotan II with a COA for each lot
Clean Peptide is a US store, cleanpeptide.com, operated by Helios LLC in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (about us). It sells Melanotan II as a 10 mg lyophilised vial for laboratory research only, and publishes each lot’s certificate on the product page and in the COA library.
